Crochet Valentine Dish Towel Holder

Good Morning!

I have always made my dish towel holders attached to the dish towel like this.

I made a ton of these but I noticed that once the dish towel got too dirty or too worn, I had to throw away the dishtowel holder and dish towel.  So I came up with a way to make just a dish towel holder that you can change the dish towels any time you want.

Here is a Valentine theme one that I made last week.  I love it because I can switch out all my Valentine dish towels when they get dirty for a clean one.

If you would like to make one see below for the pattern:

Materials:
worsted weight yarn (in your choice of color)
size H hook
button (I used a heart button)
2 1/2 in cardboard circle with a 2 inch inner circle cut out

Directions:
Wrap the cardboard circle by doing hdc (half double crochet) all the way around.  Join with a slip stitch.
* I decided to use cardboard to make the dish towel holder a little sturdier.

Row 1:  ch 2, turn, hdc in same stitch, hdc in next 8 stitches, ch 2, turn

Row 2:  hdc across, ch 2, turn

Rows 3-12 repeat row 2
on the last row find the center and place a stitch marker.  This will                 be where the button goes through.

Now place the button where it is shown in the below photo:

Fold the top down and your dish towel holder is complete.

I like to hang mine over the stove handle.

I hope you liked this free tutorial.

Have a nice day!
