Crochet Baby Romper Set

Good Morning Friends,

Last week I designed this romper set.  It includes a romper, booties and headband.  It took me quite awhile to come up with the patterns for these items.  I am really happy how they turned out.

These clothes are the right size for a baby 0-3 months or a baby doll as you will see in the photo below.  The doll I used was a "Lots to Cuddle Baby" doll. It is 20" and was the right size doll I needed for my measurements.

Here is the whole set together.

All three pieces have a lavender bow to match.

This is the yarn I used.  The color is called Baby Pastels Print

Here is a close up of the baby romper:

The bottom has snaps so it is easy to get on and off baby

Here is a close up of the baby booties

The ribbons can be untied to fit baby's foot

Here is the close up of the headband:

There is a button on back of headband to adjust on baby's head

This 3 piece baby romper set is now available for purchase in my Etsy Store.  Here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HoneyDsCreations

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!

Valentine Note Holder

Hi,

Today I have a very simple craft.  It can be made with any theme and it is so easy to make.  It is a note holder.

The only materials you will need is a clear acrylic picture frame, card stock, stickers, washi tape, ribbon, a note pad and any other material you can think of.  It really is up to your imagination what your note holder will look like.

Have fun designing your note holder.

Polymer Clay Valentine Pencil Toppers

Good Afternoon!

Today I am sharing with you how to make a polymer clay Valentine pencil topper.  This is another easy project.  Just follow the tutorial below.

Materials you will need:

a pencil
heart shape cutter
polymer clay
liquid polymer clay
tiny black beads
a needle tool
a clay tool with a ball at the end
a clay tile to bake it on
glaze (optional) if you want a shiny pencil topper

Directions:

1) Condition your clay by kneading it in your hands.  Once it has softened, flatten it a little on the tile.

2) Use the heart shape cutter and push down into the clay.

3) Remove the cutter and you should have a nice heart shape.

4) Use the ball tool and make a hole on the bottom of the heart.

5) Use an old pencil to make sure the hole is the correct side.  (I wouldn't use the nice pencil yet because the clay may stain the eraser before you bake it. I know this because it happened to me and I ruined a nice pencil.)

6) Now it is time to decorate our clay heart.  I like to make little characters out of mine.  First I added the tiny black beads for eyes.  Then I used my needle tool to add detail to the eyes.  I added a small round ball of clay for the nose.  Then I added more clay for arms and legs.  Decorate your pencil topper as fancy as you want.

I like to use liquid polymer clay to attach other clay pieces to each other.

7) Bake it according to the clay directions.  Each clay brand is different so you need to read the clay package for that information.

8) Finally let it cool and then glaze it if you want to.  I like the shiny effect the glaze has on it.

As you can see in the finished one I even added a tiny bow to make it into a girl Valentine character.

I think she came out cute.  What do you think?

Have fun making a Valentine pencil topper if you decide to make one.

DIY Valentine Soaps for Kids

Good Morning!

Today I am sharing with you some homemade Valentine soaps I made using the melt and pour method.  It is a fun way to encourage your kids to wash their hands often.

These soaps have a special surprise inside them that will have your kids wanting to wash their hands.  Inside there is a cute eraser that kids can use after the soap is gone.

Let's get started:

Materials:

soap mold
clear glycerin soap base
soap coloring
soap fragrance (I used wild berry)
erasers
rubbing alcohol

Directions:
*Note* All the kitchen supplies I use, I only use for soap making.  The smell will linger on anything you use.

1) Melt as much soap base as you need to cover the bottom of the soap mold.     I used 2 cubes per mold as a guide.  That is how much I estimated.  See photo below.

2) Next I melted my soap cubes in the microwave in a glass bowl.  You must follow the directions on each soap package because each soap brand is different.  Then carefully pour the soap base into the molds.  Only pour enough to cover the bottom like the photo below. Spray rubbing alcohol on top to disperse the bubbles that form.

Notice the soap is only poured in the bottom; not all the way to the top yet

 3) Embed the erasers when the soap base has firmed up a little.  I spray the erasers first with rubbing alcohol so they adhere to the soap layer better.

4) Then embed the erasers into the first soap layer like the photo below.

5) Next make the second layer.  Melt more soap base.  After it is melted I add a little soap coloring and a fragrance.  The fragrance I chose was wild berry.  It smells so good.  Mix those two things into the soap base and carefully pour it on top of the clear layer. (Make sure the first layer has completely firmed up before you pour this layer.)

6)  Then just let the soaps cool.  Waiting is the hardest part.  I let my soaps sit for a couple of hours.  Then carefully pop them out of the molds.

To give as gifts you can use these cute zippered baggies.  They were only a dollar at Dollar Tree.  I wrap my soaps first in plastic wrap to make it easier to slide into the baggie.

Then tie it with a pretty ribbon and it is ready to give as a gift.

If you make these soaps I would love to see what you embed in them.  They are so fun and easy to make that your kids could help with this craft project. I recommend parental supervision because you are dealing with hot soap.

Have fun!

Crochet Valentine Dish Towel Holder

Good Morning!

I have always made my dish towel holders attached to the dish towel like this.

I made a ton of these but I noticed that once the dish towel got too dirty or too worn, I had to throw away the dishtowel holder and dish towel.  So I came up with a way to make just a dish towel holder that you can change the dish towels any time you want.

Here is a Valentine theme one that I made last week.  I love it because I can switch out all my Valentine dish towels when they get dirty for a clean one.

If you would like to make one see below for the pattern:

Materials:
worsted weight yarn (in your choice of color)
size H hook
button (I used a heart button)
2 1/2 in cardboard circle with a 2 inch inner circle cut out

Directions:
Wrap the cardboard circle by doing hdc (half double crochet) all the way around.  Join with a slip stitch.
* I decided to use cardboard to make the dish towel holder a little sturdier.

Row 1:  ch 2, turn, hdc in same stitch, hdc in next 8 stitches, ch 2, turn

Row 2:  hdc across, ch 2, turn

Rows 3-12 repeat row 2
on the last row find the center and place a stitch marker.  This will                 be where the button goes through.

Now place the button where it is shown in the below photo:

Fold the top down and your dish towel holder is complete.

I like to hang mine over the stove handle.

I hope you liked this free tutorial.

Have a nice day!
