New Rainbow Loom "3D Monster Buddies"

Good Morning Friends,

Rainbow Loom has really become a big hit!  It started out as a craft kit to make simple friendship bracelets and then crafters out there have taken it to a whole new level. And it's not just for kids! LOL

I have made a ton of Rainbow Loom projects that range from simple bracelets, keychains, pencil toppers, and mini charms.  Now thanks to Craft Life on You Tube I was so inspired to create a bigger Rainbow Loom project.  It is by far the biggest creation I have ever made on the Rainbow Loom.  I tweaked the basic 3D owl figure that Craft Life did and created a 4 inch monster.

I have had so much fun designing, stuffing and customizing them.  I added arms and legs to my monsters.  No two are alike.

I am really excited to add these to my products I will be selling.  Here's a sneak peek of two of them I just finished.
This is Skybo

This is Nanu

Those were just a couple of names I came up with for them.  I will talk more about the significance of their names in another blog.

But for now I have to get busy making more monsters.  I'll post photos of them when there done.

Let me know in the comments what you think of my "Monster Buddies".

Have a great day!

Debbie

A New Duct Tape Wallet for Horse Lovers

Good Afternoon Friends,

I wanted to share a new duct tape wallet I made.  It is a horse theme wallet. It will be available in my Etsy shop this week.  I am in the process of making a bunch of new duct tape wallet designs.

Here it is:

I wanted to show you a close up of the horseshoe charm.  It has been securely sewn into the wallet.  It has jewels embedded in it.  It is really pretty.

Like I said this wallet will be available in my Etsy store.

If you know anyone who loves horses they will love this wallet.  The wallet is also clear taped so the horse design will not peel.

Until next time...

Crocheted Covered Earbud Cords

Hello Friends,

This weeks post is highlighting a project that I wish I would have thought of sooner.  I don't know about you but my earbud cords always get twisted up when I put them away.  I have to spend time untangling them before I can even use them.

Here is what my earbud cords used to look like:
A Tangled Mess

I used some yarn and crocheted over the earbud cords.  I made myself a pair of rainbow themed ones.  I love them!  It is more enjoyable to use them now that they aren't a tangled mess anymore. Here is a photo of my new and improved earbud cords.

My son saw me using them and of course he wanted me to make him a pair. My hubby is next on the list.  My son suggested that I make them with other designs to sell in my Etsy shop for kids.

Here are two more earbud cords I crocheted that are currently in my Etsy shop:
Spongebob themed one in blue and yellow with a Spongebob charm in the center

Minnie Mouse with pink and black colors and a Minnie Mouse charm
These two earbud cords have been added to my Etsy shop if you are interested in purchasing them.  If you have another theme or character you prefer send me an email and I will be happy to make a custom made order for you.

A New Duct Tape Wallet Pattern - "Purple Paisley"

Hello Friends,

Happy July!

Today I am sharing with you a new duct tape pattern that I found at AC Moore.  It is Purple Paisley.  When I spotted it on the shelf I knew I needed to make a new wallet with it.

I needed to pick out some solid colors of duct tape to coordinate with this pattern.  I already had some dark purple duct tape that I had used for another project.  That seemed to go together with it nicely.  The other color I chose was light blue.  It was a toss up between that and yellow.  Since I already had duct tape in these colors I decided to go with purple and light blue.  I think they coordinate perfectly.

The style wallet I made with these colors was my "20 Pocket Wallet" for store reward cards.  I had just sold out of that style wallet on Etsy with my Cotton Candy pattern and I am selling this one to replace it.

Here are some other photos of the wallet:

It has a velcro closure
Two hidden pockets for a checkbook, cash, etc

If you are interested in this wallet you can purchase it in my Etsy shop.

If you would like a custom made wallet with a different pattern and colors I would be happy to help you with that too.

Have a great day friends.

Plarn Project - What is plarn?

Hello Friends,

I hope you are all doing well.  Today's blog post is about something I recently discovered while searching on Pinterest.  It is plarn.  What is plarn you say? It basically is plastic bags cut in a way that can be looped together to form a ball of yarn; but in this case plarn.

Then once you have your ball of plarn you can create tons of projects like you would if you were crocheting or knitting.

I really like working with plarn because I can recycle my plastic bags and turn them into items that people can use.

Here is the first plarn project I did last week.  I took it to the market and used it along with my other reusuable bags.  I was very impressed how strong the bag is and how much it can hold.

Here is my bag:

I am loving this bag.  Not only is it reusable but it is waterproof too.

Well I am off to the market with my bag.

Oh, and in case you were wondering if these bags are for sale.  I will let you all know when they will be available in my Etsy shop.

Have a great day! :)

Photos of my Craft Fair Products

Good Morning Friends,
I know it has been awhile since I posted on this blog and for that I apologize. Since my last post I have been busy making items for the two craft fairs I attended last month.  But I thought I would share with you the products I sold.

The first one was at a beach festival.  It was outdoors and we had to set up our own tent with our booth.  My friend Kate and I shared a tent space.  It was really cold and rainy that weekend but we survived the three days that we were there. LOL

My craft table. (Everything had to be tied down securely because it was so windy.)

Taken at a different angle

An extra table I used for my Rainbow Loom items
Here are close up photos of the craft items I was selling:

My Crochet Doll Bathing Suit

My Crochet Doll Beach Bag and Blanket and needle-felted sheep, bear, kitty and bee

My Butterfly Ribbon Hair Clips
That's it friends.  That is what I have been up to.  It has taken me awhile to make everything you see here. I still have many more ideas in my "Idea Bag" that you will see coming soon.

If you see anything here that you would like to order, let me know.  I haven't put everything on Etsy.  You can contact me through my email.

Update on Duct Tape Backpack

Happy Thursday Friends,

So the duct tape backpack is coming along.  I have the pattern completed which is my own original design.  I don't want to give too much away because I want it to be a surprise when it is completed.  I will tell you that it will have interior pockets as well as a detachable pencil pouch.  The challenging part right now is adding side pockets.  I've tried a couple of techniques already but I'm not happy with it yet.  This is definitely a project that takes more than a week's time to complete.  But I will say that I am half way done with it.

In other news, I am going to be participating in my first craft fair of the year next Friday.  It is a 3 day event and I will be with my friend Kate from http://crochetbykatie.blogspot.com/.  We will be sharing a booth together.  If you live in the area come by and check out our craft items.   Here is the direct link to that event.

That will do it for this week friends.  Like I said the duct tape backpack is almost ready to be revealed.

Stay tuned...

Rainbow Loom Sea Coral Bracelet

Good Morning Friends,

First of all I want to thank everyone who is subscribing to my blog or who has viewed my blog.  It may not seem like a lot but seeing that I have had 1,049 views on my blog is more than I thought I would ever see.  I was even excited after receiving 20 views. LOL  Your responses to my craft blog has encouraged me to continue crafting and sharing each week.  I hope you continue to follow me and if you are a new subscriber...Welcome to my craft blog!

On to this week's project share...Another one of my favorite crafts is with the Rainbow Loom.  Some of you may have seen my Rainbow Loom Mario keychain.  If you haven't, here is the direct link to that page.
http://honeydscreations.blogspot.com/2014/03/rainbow-loom-mario-figure.html

I also like making different Rainbow Loom bracelets.  When I came across the Sea Coral Rainbow Loom Bracelet by Sea Wolfe I just had to try it.  Here is the finished bracelet I made.

It was so fun to make but very time consuming because each color band has to be twisted and rolled.  But I think the finished product does look like sea coral.

This bracelet definitely makes me think of summer and going to the beach.  I will be making a bunch of these to sell at craft fairs this summer.  If you would like to order one send me an email at dbcroce15@gmail.com

Custom orders are always welcomed if you would like different colors or need a smaller or bigger size bracelet.

This will definitely be a bracelet I will be wearing this summer.

The next project I am working on is a suggestion made by a friend.  It is a duct tape backpack.  I have never made one before so it is a bit of a challenge.  I am designing and making my own pattern for this one. A lot of techniques I have learned in the past is how this backpack is coming together. I am so excited to share it with you but you will have to check back next week to see it.

Until then...Bee Creative!!!

Thanks everyone for your support. :)

A Wearable Duct Tape Craft Item - Duct Tape Beaded Bracelets

Happy Tuesday Friends,

Even though it is rainy out today and the weather makes me want to be lazy. I am working hard to complete my craft items for the Spring craft fair coming up.  This week's craft item is one of the items I will be selling there.

It is a duct tape beaded bracelet.  They come in all different colors. Combined with solid colored pony beads they make a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Here is a photo of all of them that I have so far.

It was a good way to use up the end of my duct tape rolls so there was no waste.  I used Stretch Magic which is a bead and jewelry cord to string on the duct tape beads and pony beads.  I made myself a few of them already to coordinate with some of my clothes.  They are definitely customizable and I will make them in any colors you would like.

Here are some close up photos of each bracelet.

purple and teal

olive green and yellow striped

cherry and black

chocolate spots

pink and white

green and sky blue

fuschia and purple

black and white

black, red and pink striped

blue multi-color

I'm wearing this one at the moment because it reminds me of Spring with all the pretty colors.  The duct tape beads on this bracelet were actually made with the butterfly pattern duct tape.

If your interested in purchasing any of these bracelets or would like one custom made, send me an email at dbcroce15@gmail.com

Have a great day!
